OZ
SUCKS
Produced by Pete Townshend
Three songs about Oz magazine - the underground publication that sparked Britain's longest obscenity trial. Produced by Pete Townshend. Released as a free 24-page magazine designed by Richard Adams, who designed the original Oz.
We wrote these songs after spending a day in the V&A's archive, rummaging through boxes of court documents, readers' letters, and paste-up artwork rescued from police raids. The readers were furious - they thought Oz had gone soft. "There is nothing to incite us NOW," one wrote. We borrowed their words.
The magazine is free. We've printed a thousand copies, and fans across the UK are distributing them by hand - leaving them in bookshops, cafés, record shops, on buses. Take one, share one, leave one somewhere unexpected.
Also available on cassette and CD, with hand-sprayed envelopes and signed copies. Our latest collaboration with Pete Townshend. Counterculture, 2026 style.
